COVID 19 Teaching
This May, as everything shifted online, I had the opportunity to teach some classes with The Phoenix Theatre Company. I taught a class titled One Song Superstar for 4-6 year-olds and 7-10. During the 55 minutes I would teach the children a lyrics to a song and then we would learn the choreography I had prepared for the class. By the end of the class they would know a full song with choreography. The second class was Story-time Tea, 55 minutes getting to read fantastic stories to 4-6 year-olds while sipping on tea or another preferred beverage like juice or water. The last class was a week long modeled after the normal in person summer camp but condensed for a pair of siblings. Sibling Stardom met for 55 minutes Monday-Friday. The goal was to learn an entire show they could preform for their families. The first week was a condensed version of Beetlejuice and the second week was a chronological music revue of Disney movie music with scripted banter between the two siblings. Both scripts I wrote, cut the music, added choreography, and blocking.
